New Tech Network is a non-profit organization that works with schools, districts, and communities to implement innovative public high schools.

A New World Order?

Are we ready to embrace ‘swimmers’ and ‘treaders’ as the new world order?

Why join the student testing bandwagon?

At the Fall Leadership Summit, held for all directors leading schools in the New Tech Network, we were asked “Why is NTN joining the student testing bandwagon?” Our answer was that NTN isn't "joining" the outcomes bandwagon so much as pushing ourselves to add more substance to how we measure student success. NTN has always been on the outcomes bandwagon. From the beginning our goal has been to demonstrate and measure the success of the NTN model.

The New Tech Effect

At NTN results matter. All results. Not just those that are state mandated, but a full range of results that tell us how students feel, think, respond to and engage in a range of cognitive, emotional, behavioral and social activities associated with their educational experience.

The New Tech Extreme School Makeover

We often get asked: what's the New Tech secret sauce? Project based learning? Yes. Tech-infused instruction? Yes. Positive school culture? Yes. And much, much more that can't be encapsulated in just a few sound bites.

Patrick F. Taylor Science and Technology Academy, one of Jefferson Parish's top-performing public schools, was named a National Blue Ribbon school today by the U.S. Department of Education.

Taylor, a six-year-old magnet in Old Jefferson for sixth through 12th grades, is one of 304 U.S. schools so honored. Three others in Louisiana also were named Blue Ribbon schools: Eunice Elementary, Ruby-Wise Elementary in Pineville and Ryan Elementary in Baton Rouge.

Principal Jaime Zapico credited Taylor's broad community: teachers, students, parents and staff.
